Everyone deserves a bedroom that becomes your escape from the hustle of life and promotes a good night’s sleep. Soothing colors, plush bedding, and well-selected bedroom furnishings like nightstands with ample storage are just a few elements you require to create a relaxing yet elegant bedroom.
If you are confused about where to start with your bedroom makeover, we have the perfect solution for you. Whether you’ve recently moved into a new house or want to make a few changes to your existing one, be prepared to create the getaway of your dreams in your bedroom. When looking for the latest bedroom hacks, you must have come across the cloud ceiling idea on social media. A cloud ceiling looks aesthetic and unique and adds a creative touch to your bedroom. So how do you prepare it?
1. Gather all the material:
To build a cloud ceiling in your bedroom, you require lots of cottons, a cardboard piece, a few nails, LED light strips, and liquid glue. You can purchase all this stuff from a local hardware shop for just under $100. If you want more color for your bedroom, you can buy colored cotton, but white would do just fine as well.
2. Attach the LED strips:
Bring a ladder and attach the LED strips to your ceiling using sticky tape attached to the stripes. Make sure you place the lights in a thunder-lightening-like direction, not too straight nor too circular.
3. Apply liquid glue:
Once you’re satisfied with the position of your LED strips, move on to applying liquid glue to the ceiling. Do not use super glue as it may cause the cotton to burn away. Instead, use craft glue which is mostly safe to use with cotton and fabrics.
4. Stick the cotton:
Lastly, stuff pieces of cotton to your ceiling and make sure that you leave no chunk unstuffed. The LED strips should be completely hidden with three to four layers of cotton for more realistic effects.
5. All ready for display:
Viola! Your very own DIY Cotton Ceiling is all ready for display! The best part is that you can adjust the lights according to your mood and vibes since LED lights usually come with various color patterns. Now enjoy an aesthetic and mystic bedroom ambiance, all prepared without having to spend thousands of dollars.
What’s the catch?
Although this DIY idea is guaranteed to add appeal to your bedroom, it still requires much aftercare. Make sure you keep your room neat and clean and prevent mosquitoes and spiders from habituating there. Maintain regular dusting of the ceiling, and you’ll be all good to go!
If you do not want to risk it with your ceiling, you can use a large cardboard piece and attach the LED strips to them. Then add glue to the cardboard and stick cotton to it. Once done, you can hang the cardboard wherever you like using nails, and your cardboard cloud window will be all ready for display.
