1.      Gather all the material:

To build a cloud ceiling in your bedroom, you require lots of cottons, a cardboard piece, a few nails, LED light strips, and liquid glue. You can purchase all this stuff from a local hardware shop for just under $100. If you want more color for your bedroom, you can buy colored cotton, but white would do just fine as well.

2.      Attach the LED strips:

Bring a ladder and attach the LED strips to your ceiling using sticky tape attached to the stripes. Make sure you place the lights in a thunder-lightening-like direction, not too straight nor too circular.

3.      Apply liquid glue:

Once you’re satisfied with the position of your LED strips, move on to applying liquid glue to the ceiling. Do not use super glue as it may cause the cotton to burn away. Instead, use craft glue which is mostly safe to use with cotton and fabrics.

4.      Stick the cotton:

Lastly, stuff pieces of cotton to your ceiling and make sure that you leave no chunk unstuffed. The LED strips should be completely hidden with three to four layers of cotton for more realistic effects.
